SLAVERY IN ABYSSINA
INVESTIGATION SUGGESTED.
British Official Wireless. . Rugby, July. 19. The Foreign Secretary, Mr/ Arthur Henderson, to-day received a deputation from the Anti-Slavery and Aborigines Protection Society. The deputation suggested that the temporary Slavei’y Commission should be revived by the decision of Ihe next Assembly of the League of Nations, and that, when it’ had been revived, the documents m the possession of the British Government concerning slavery in Abyssinia, raids from Abyssinia into British territory and the traffic across the Red Sea should be sent in by the British Government to the commission. In his reply the Foreign Secretary assured the d.putation of the personal sympathy of himself and the Prime Minister, and promised, in consultation with the departments concerned, to give . favourable consideration to th# proposal made concerning the revival ot temvofasy Slavery
