MEDLEY CUP TO HAUGHTON ABBOTT LEADS FOR QUINN CUP. STRATFORD & INGLEWOOD DRAW. The Waiwakailio golf. course was heavy after the recent heavy rains for the second round of the Medley Cup competition on Saturday, and consequently the scores generally were not up to standard. The leader. G. Haughton, failed to play up to his form of the previous week, but his card of 5 down was sufficient to enable him to lead the field. The best card of the day was that of R. INTER-CLUB MATCH. NEW PLYMOUTH BEATS WAITARA. A team of players from Waitara was beaten during the week-end by a New Plymouth team. Now Plymouth had much the better of things, winning 11 games and halving two, while the visitors won one. Following are the results, New Plymouth players being mentioned first: — Morning. A. S. ; . . PLAY AT ELTHAM. SECOND ROUND OF QUINN CUP. The second round of the Quinn Cup was played by the Eltham Club during the week-end, and the following were the best cards returned: —H. Wills. 2 up; L. Abbott, 1 down; H. Casey and H. Gibson, 2 down. Owing to inclement weather the third round was not played, but as L. Abbott in the two rounds is 1 up, it is doubtful whether the match will be carried any further. STRATFORD v. INGLEWOOD. GAME RESULTS IN A DRAW., Stratford and Inglewood Golf Club teams met at Stratford during the week-end, the play resulting in a draw. The weather was not conducive to a high standard of play, but in spite of this the morning’s matches proved most enjoyable. Owing to the inclemency of the weather play was abandoned in the afternoon. Results, Inglewood, being mentioned first are:—Lovell and Smith ■defeated Neal and Anderson, 3 up and 2 to play; Ritchie and Darlow defeated Jeffries and Burmester, 3 and 2; O’Carrell and Thompson lost to Curtis and Abraham, 2 up; Sutherland and Grant defeated Newell and Rutherfurd, 3 and 2; Winter and Maetzig all square with Fisher and Urwin; Mulholland and Olson all square with Budge and L. Furrie; Winfield and Partridge lost to Hugo and A, Furrie 1 up; Armstrong and Meyer lost to Southcombe and Williamson, 3 and 2. The visitors were entertained to lunch by the local club.
