HUGE LINERS TO BE BUILT

Joseph Sheedy, president of the United States Lines, has announced that the construction of two new liners will commence early in 1930. They will be modelled after the Leviathan, but both will be larger. The new vessels are expected to be completed within three years. They will be 956 feet long, with a displacement of 56,000 tons, and will accommodate JLOOO passengers. Mr. Sheedy“stated that the company’s policy will be to add one ship'per annum to the fleet.
