Air. F. Sliepperd, of the New Ply« mouth staff of the Bank of Australasia, has received notice of transfer to Dannevirxe.

The death of Commissioner BoothTucker, of the Salvation Army, aged 76, is reported by the United Service, The Commissioner was educated at the. Cheltenham College, and resigned from the Indian Civil Service' in 1881 to join the Salvation Army. He married Emma, second daughter of General- Booth, and after serving in America and England returned to India from 1907 to 1919.

Mr. A. J. Glasson, of the Fields Division of the Department of Agriculture, retires from the service during the next few weeks. Mr. Glasson has been stationed in the llawera district for many years. He rendered valuable service in the interests of the farming community. Mr. Glasson has been a very keen supporter of the Boys’ and Girls’ Agricultural Clubs.

■Speaking at the dinner in Wellington of the New Zealand Company of Master Mariners, the president (Sir Charles Statham) mentioned that Captain Chris-, topher Welch, who was the oldest member of the company, wotild on November 5 celebrate his 100th - birthday. ,H® lived at Carey’s Bay, Port Chalmers, and it was a matter for regret that his great age prevented his being present at the dinner. The resignation of Staff-Sergeant P. MacKenzie from the permanent staff of the New Zealand Military Forces will take effect from the end of this month. His position on the staff of the New Plymouth regimental district will bo taken by Staff Sergeant-Major J. S. King, who is at present stationed at Wanganui, in. the Palmerston North regimental district.
