ANOTHER WAR FEARED
OPINION OF MR. H. G. WELLS. London, July 11. “I think that the world is drifting fast toward another great war, because we find extraordinary difficulty in turning our feet toward the paths leading to peace,” said Mr. H. G. Wells, in a broadcast speech. “The League of Nations was an American idea, but now it is a mere debating society because the Americans are too patriotic to allow their freedom of action in foreign affairs to be fettered by international. control. There can be only one world State in the world. That is the basic fact of the peace problem in a nutshell. We must cease to be” national, putting world peace before patriotism.”
