Dairy farmers should look to the condition of their calf paddock. Topdress it liberally with lime and phosphates. Keep the grass short and free from withered herbage, and when grass fails, provide some succulent substitute. Also provide an abundance of clean drinking water, shelter from sun and storm, and a salt lick. The best calfmeal to feed is “Tui.” 10
