AEROPLANE OVERTURNS
MISHAP AT WHENUAKURA. MACHINE AND MEN UNINJURED. The D.H. Gipsy Moth biplane piloted by Captain D. P. MacGregor turned over on to its back when it was at the end of a landing on Mr. C. R. Honeyfield’s landing ground at Whenuakura (near Patea) yesterday morning. A fence was reached at a boundary when a puffy breeze increased. There was not sufficient room to manoeuvre and the plane turned turtle over the obstruction. Neither Captain MacGregor nor Mr. B. Waterland, his passenger, were seemingly any the worse for their experience. The machine practically escaped any ■harm, so far as is known. It was towed to Hawera in the afternoon and now lies in a garage with propeller stowed and wings folded. A cursory inspection reveals no structural damage, although first-hand information was not procurable last night.
