AID FOR AMERICAN FARMERS
POLICY OF RELIEF BOARD.
EXTENSION OF CO-OPERATION.
By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright. Received July 17, 7.15 p.m. Washington, July 10. Mr. Alexander Legge, president of the Farm Board, has announced that the first policy the new board has agreed upon will be that of building up cooperative associations in order to eliminate the middleman and bring the producer and consumer into direct contact. It is hoped this programme will bring greater profits to the producer without increasing prices to the consumer. In the meantime, in order to thoroughly study the co-operative system, the aiding of which through Government funds will be the chief purpose of the Farm Relief Act, members of the board will meet the American Institute of Co-operation at Baton Rouge (Louisiana) on July 29.
