GENERAL AND PERSONAL. The Domain Board, which commenced its seven-year term-last year, presented a fine record of achievement at its annual meeting last week. The principal work of the year was the construction of the swimming baths, Mr. J. D. Hickford was elected chairman for the ensuing year. The prevalence of severe colds and influenza has seriously affected the attendance at the euchre parties. Monday night’s winners were Mrs. Carey senr. and Mr. Frank Goodin. Prices at the clearing sale of J. C. Davidson’s estate were usual. . The cattle were mostly in good condition. The top price was £l5 10s. Jersey cross yearlings sold for £5 2s 6d, and the horses and sundries also realised satisfactory prices. Last Thursday’s ping-pong attracted a good crowd, ami the games continued merrily till n l ft te hour. Mr. R. F. Roebuck, who has been very ill, is improving, but is still confined to his bed. The very wet weather lately has delayed work on the Saunders Road, which in places is almost impassable. The basketball team from the school reached the semi-finals at the competitions in New Plymouth last week. It was eliminated by the team which won the B grade,
