A The Workers’ Social Hall, New Ply mouth, was last night transferred into ) brilliant playground where a galaxy 6 merry maids and men gaily waltzed, fox trotted and capriced—a play-house artis tically festooned with clustered, multi coloured balloons and cute jazz effects, fq here ruled King Jazz in. all splendour a the High School old girls’ annual dance In previous years the-old girls’ commit tee had set a high standard, difficult t< attain and supposed to be the peak of th terpischorean world, but it is safe to sa; that last night’s function * surpassed thj previous efforts and has set a still harde standard. And these remarks will receiv' acquiescence from the hundred couples wh< danced on that scintillating floor. Remembering the vast amount of de corative work done .by the committee, on cannot overlook the role played by the sec retary, Miss M. Moyes. Under her exper supervision arrangements were completei to detail. An excellent supper was provided am Goburn’s orchestra played music tha everyone enjoyed. The chaperones were Mrs. H. R. Billirq and Misses E. Andrews and N. McLean.
