AMERICAN WHEAT FARMERS
RELIEF BOARD CONVENED. By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright. Received July 16, 7.15 p.m. Washington, July 15. The Federal Farm Board has been convened without offering the expected emergency action to aid wheat prices, which were jumping as the board met. President Hoover spoke briefly to the board, emphasising its responsibilities. “Your fundamental purpose must be to determine the facts and find the solution of the multitude of agricultural problems,” he said. The Agricultural Department has issued a statement warning those concerned that “sharp prices are likely to be followed by a reaction to lower prices.”
