HEAVY RAINS IN NELSON
SLIPS DAMAGE TWO HOUSES. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Nelson, July 15. Heavy rain throughout the district during the week-end caused general floods, which damaged roads, bridges and farm lands. A subsidence on the hillside near Tahuna beach wrenched two houses from their foundations and the occupants had to evacuate them. The subsidence was probably the result of water getting in the cracks caused by the earthquake.
