TRAM REVENUE INCREASES
SMALL DECLINE IN BUS FARES. JUNE RUNNING IN NEW PLYMOUTH Train revenue showed an increase or £7 Ss in New Plymouth during June, while the bus fares decreased by Is 9d. Tramway revenue totalled £1689 18s 7d and passengers 208,515, an increase of 861 over the corresponding period last year. The buses earned £274 6s Id from 27,629 passengers, a decrease of 129. Details reported to the borough council last night by the manager (Mr. G. J. Wyatt) were as follow: —Fitzroy-Port route: Mileage, 19,932; passengers, 169,287; fares, £l3BB Ils 7d. Park-Westown: Mileage, 6942; passengers, 39,228; fares, £3Ol 7s. The buses travelled 5670' miles. Mr. Wyatt reported that, as desired by the council, he had made a slight improvement in the power of the headlights on the trams and that a further improvement, if possible, would be made.
