Melbourne, July 13. S Commodore Swabey and the officers of - ; the New Zealand Squadron were entertained at a dinner at Scott’s. Hotel by <’ prominent New Zealanders resident here. ; It was a brilliant function and was presided over by Mr. H. J. Manson, New ■ Zealand Government agent. , ' Among those present were the Lora . Mayor, Admiral Sydenham, Commodore . Stevenson and the Secretary of Naval De- .<■ fence. Mr. Richard Linton, M.L.A., proposed the toast of “The Visitors.” Commodore Swabey replied. - ■ Dr. J. A. Gilruth, proposed “The Royal-1 Australian Navy,” and Commodore Stevenson responded. The Lord Mayor paid a compliment to the New Zealand representative in Australia. . ■ • ' ■ ,v..‘
