CROYDON POISONING MYSTERY.

At the opening .of the inquest on Edward Duff the coroner announced that arsenic had been found in every tissue of the exhumed body. The doctors statement revealed that four-fifths of a grain had been actually found in the body. . vr Thomas Sidney, a brother of AirsDuff gave evidence that the couple were happily married, though he saw Duff really’angry with his sister just before he went on a fishing holiday. This was unusual because Duff had always been good tempered. The inquest was adjourned. The Lord Chief Justice, Lord He wart, on July 2 granted an application for the exhumation of the body of Dull, formerly High Commissioner for Nigeria, rue body was exhumed from a grave in Croydon cemetery on May 18, making the third exhumation in the same cemetery within a period of two months. On March 21 two coffins were exhumed from a single grave; they were those of Mrs. Violet Emelia Sidney, aged 69, of B “ d ' hurst Road, South Croydon, and hei daughter Vera, aged 40, whose deaths have been the subject of separate inquiries by the Croydon coroner Dr. H. n. Jackson, over several days. Mis. Sid ney died on March 5 and her daughter on February 14. Mr. Duff was a son-in-law of Mrs. Sidney.
