Connett: — That in pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in it by Section 17 “Local Bodies Loans Act, 1926, and of all other acts and powers (if any) it in that behalf enabling and with the consent of the ratepayers of the Weld Road Special Rating District of the County of Taranaki testified by a petition signed by not less than three fourths of the ratepayers in the said Special Rating District the capital value of whose properties as appearing in the valuation roll of the said County is collectively greater than the capital value of the properties of the ratepayers who do not so consent the Taranaki County Council hereby resolves by way of special order as follows:—

That the Council proceed to raise a loan of four hundred pounds for the purpose of forming and metalling the Weld Road. That such loan be called the Taranaki County Weld Road Special Rating District Loan of £4OO, 1928. That the currency of the said loan shall be for a period of twenty-five (25) years. That the interest on the said loan shall not exceed six per cent, per annum, and shall be payable half yearly on the first day of April and October in each and every year. That the form of security for the payment of principal anff interest on the said loan shall be one debenture of four hundred pounds ( £400) and relative coupons in a form in conformity with the provisions of the Local Bodies Loans Act, 1926. That the Council doth hereby appropriate and pledge as security for the repayment of the said loan and the interest sinking fund and other charges thereon the Special Rate of one and eleven-sixteen-ths pence (1 11-16) in the pound sterling on the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property in the Weld Road Special Rating District of the County of Taranaki. That it is proposed to provide a sinking fund of two per cent. That the cost of raising the said loan be paid out of the loan. Seconded by Councillor L. Carey and CARRIED. The foregoing resolution was passed at a Special Meeting of the Council held on Monday the Ist day of July, 1929, and will be submitted for confirmation at the ordinary meeting of the Council to be held at the County Chambers, Robe Street, New Plymouth, at 2 p.m., on Monday the fifth day of August, 1929.
