EX-MINISTER’S DOWNFALL
CHARGES OF FRAUD AND FORGERY. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Received July 12, 7 . p.m. Paris, July 12. The trial began to-day of M. Klotz, who was seven times Minister of Finance for France, and a signatory to the Treaty of Versailles, on charges of uttering cheques when he had insufficient means to meet them, also with issuing bills of exchange with false signatures.
Klotz was pale and haggard. His defending counsel argued that he acted without intent to defraud.
