DOMINION-WIDE BROADCAST
WHANGAREI CONCERT RELAY. For tho first time in New Zealand wireless history an attempt will be made to establish a simultaneous broadcast from the four YA stations, and probably 2YB, New Plymouth, will be included. The Broadcasting Company has in view a Dominion-wide broadcast of a Whangarei band concert, and already overtures have been made to the P. and T. Department with the view to obtaining the necessary relay lines. The date suggested is Sunday, August 11. The concert will bo relayed by land lino from Whangarei to Auckland, where it will be broadcast by IYA. By a land line from Auckland the concert will be relayed to Wellington, where it will be broadcast by 2YA. It has been suggested that a further land line from Auckland or Wellington to New Plymouth could bo arranged, and if that were done the concert would be broadcnct by 2YB. The Christchurch station, 3YA, will “pick up” Wellington and'rebroadcast the concert, and there will be a land lino relay to Dunedin.
