On Tuesday a team of New Plymouth lady golfers visited Stratford to play a challenge match for the Taplin Cup. The result of the match was a draw, Stratford retainihg the cup. «: ® * *
Mrs. Newall gave a very jolly bridge party on Wednesday night. The guests were Miss M. Skoglund, Mrs. S. S. Pelvin, Miss M. Porritt, Miss G. North, Miss M. Wright and Miss N. Spence, and the Messrs A. Budge, K. Neal, G. Irving, T. O’Neal, A. Funie and L. Wynyard. # # -J W
Mrs. Jardine gave a delightful little bridge party on Tuesday night. Those present were Mrs. Malfroy, Mrs. Jeffries, Mrs. Coleman, Mrs. J. Lyons, Mrs. Furrie, Mrs. Glasgow, Mrs. Macalister, Mrs. Hall, Mrs. Kay, Mrs. L. Curtis, Mrs. Steven and Mrs. Budge. The prize winners were Mrs. Curtis, Mrs. Kay and Mrs. Steven. * « * *
The younger girls of S. Mary’s school entertained with songs, dancing an plays on Thursday night in aid of the school alpine club. Among those m the audience were Mesdames (Kaponga), Good, Glasgow, Allen, Bur master, Beale, Porritt, Curtis, Kay, Jefferies, Robertson, C. Penn, HatAerway, Ryan, and the Misses Riera, Allen, Porritt and Liddell.
Miss Josie Kovaleski, Tuna, left dur ing the week for Wellington.
