GARAGE TWICE FIRED

INCENDIARISM SUSPECTED. STRANGE COINCIDENCES, .' By Telegraph—Press Association. ■ Christchurch, Last Night. Another attempt was made this evening to destroy the garage owned by R. C. Robson, Hereford Place, in which three cars were saturated with petrol and fired on Tuesday evening. This evening the petrol store of the garage was fired and only the prompt arrival of the fire brigade saved the building from destruction. This petrol store is a small shed annexe in which case spirit and kerosene was stored. A passerby saw the flames in this store at 8.30 p.m. and gave the alarm. When the brigade arrived the position was dangerous, as there was a risk of heavy explosions, but quick work with chemical engines smothered the fire. Little damage was done. It seemed that the shed had been entered not by forcing the door but by unlocking it with a key asLon the previous occasion. The alarm of fire was followed five minutes later by a second call and as on Tuesday this second call proved a false alarm.
