THE BLENHEIM WELL. The Blenheim Oil Well Company reports: Drilling commenced on June 27, but was considerably hampered by bad weather. The plant has now been roofed, which will mean better progress in future. Boring has been through 26ft. brown, sandy volcanic clay; 12ft. hard sandstone; 3ft. 7in. volcanic rock; 66ft. hard sandstone volcanic; 10ft. slightly caving sand; from 117 ft. Gin. to 165 ft., hard volcanic sandstone; from 165 ft. to 172 ft. badly caving sand; from 172 ft. to depth drilled to date, 216 ft., sandy claystone.
