ANNUAL MJSBTIXa OI? CLUB.

The New Plymouth Fire Brigade BowL ing Club held its annual meeting at tho fire station on Tuesday night. Tho committee’s annual report was read before a good attendance of members. Tha president of the club, Superintendent A o Boon, occupied the chair.

During tho past year keen interest had been taken in the banner and club matches, and many close finishes were ’recorded, said the report. The green had been in good playing condition all the year. Financially also the club was m a very good position. Starting the year with a credit balance of £75 15s <sd, the club at present showed a debit of £l6 19s lid. This was owing to the fact that £2O had been spent on improvements and two years’ salary (£24) had been .paid in one year. • Fireman L. Street was congratulated on winning the championship and tho Ford Cup, Mr. H. Des Forges the junior championship, and Mr. VV. Baunton the handicap singles. The “Diggers” Cup was competed for and won from members of the Inglewood Club, and after a number of challenges had been contested, was lost to a “diggers” rink from Hawe-ra.

The pavilion had been improved by an extension of 12 feet. Soil tad been procured for top-dressing and the grdfenwarden (Mr. Carrington) was thanked for procuring it. The election of officers, resulted: — 1 President, Superintendent A. Boon; assistant secretary, Mr. L. Street.; .match committee, Messrs A. G-ood win, F. Doughty, C. Gcrnhoefer; greenwarden, Mr. F. Carrington. The offer of Mr. F. Roberts to donate a cup for the club’s junior championship was accepted with thanks. Mr. Roberts’ father, who had been a subforeman in the 'brigade, was. an enthusiastic member of the bowling chib. Tho cup was offered on behalf of 'his family. , , , Messrs Gable and Austin wore elected members of the club.
