STRATFORD’S ASSETS.

PRESENT AND FUTURE. VISION AND JUDGMENT. Stratford is one of the cleanest and brightest towns in the Dominion. In the early days its founders had the wisdom to lay it out for the accommodation of a large population, recognising as they did that it must become the centre of a large and fertile district. Broadway, as its name implies, is a wide thoroughfare. It is also a dignified, impressive one. Many a town in these days of the motorenvy this spacious thoroughfare, where cars may be ranged on either side without in any way interfering with the ordinary through traffic. It has been a costly business to bitumenise the street, but it has. been well worth while. It is safe to say that no resident would care to have the street narrowed or unsealed. It is one of Stratford’s greatest assets.

Other assets are the wide bridge and Post Office. There was a good deal of difference of opin’ ,n upon the expenditure of the money involved in making the bridge a full width one, but the perscience and enterprise of the promoters have been thoroughly justified. The same is the case with the Post Office. It was built not for present requirements but for future as well, and the day is rapidly approaching when all the accommodation will be required. Yes; Stratford’s public men of the past had vision and sound judgment.
