HOW TASTES ARE CATERED FOR

There is almost 50,000 square feet of floor space loaded with an endless variety of exhibits at the Stratford Show. This space is derived from the ingenious division of the interims o£ tw garages in Broadway North. Visitors to Stratford for the first time will be unable to miss the site, as the mam entrance and fi age are illuminated with countless coloured lights, bunting and greenery. There are numerous side-shows, stalls and trade isp y occupying a balanced proportion of the available area.

In the poultry section, which opens tolay, there are 872 entries a? against last reafs record of 554, and, in addition »anary entries have doubled 59 as against 85. Last year there were 27a entries in the home industries section. To-day there ere 351, while 26 in the art section have grown to 68. The scouts’ section returned • equal figures. In all, entries constitute a afresh record with a total of 2403 and have been received from the far north, Ashburton and Napier. Among all these there will be something of personal interest to all.

To-day the great poultry section, with Its championships and special trophies, will open, adding fresh interest ta the general conception and drawing another class pf patron. Poultry farming, as an adjunct to other branches of agricultural and pastural industries, is developing rapidly ! in central Taranaki and the Stratford Egg Circle is one of the livest institutions of the town. There will be some wonderful birds on view and some surprising ' records in the way of egg production to Examine.

paration, planning and organisation. Stratford is fortunate in possessing men and women willing, even eager to devote s. much time and labour to this wor . They are to be congratulated upon the success that has crowned their v mtary efforts, and commended for their enterprise, for all have been workers as well as thinkers.
