INGLEWOOD NEWS.

(From Our Own Correspondent.) On Monday evening in the Parish hall the Rev. Thompson held a very successful fancy dress ball. Despite the weather, the hall was well filled and a very enjoyable evening was spent. During his stay in Ingle wood as the guest of Mr. Mullaney, Mr. F. A. Fletcher, the well-known Wellington referee, gave several lectures to footballers and referees. These have been very well attended, and proved most instructive and interesting. Mr. Fletcher returned to Wellington on Monday. Last week the staff of the Bank of New South Wales met tu farewell Mr. I. Caldwell, who has been transferred to Gisborne. Mr. Caldwell was presented by the staff with a fountain pen. Tho staff took tho opportunity of welcoming the new teller, Mr. Major, of Blenheim.

Mr. Caldwell left for Gisborne on Friday. Tho vicar (Rev. Thompson), who has been attending synod in Hamilton, returned on Saturday. Mr. R. B. .Sutton, chairman of the Moa Dairy Company, has returned from Whangarei, where ho attended a meeting of the National Dairy Association.
