EVACUATION OF RHINELAND

INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE. (British Official Wireless.) • Rugby, July 8. Answering questions in Parliament as to the date of withdrawal of the British troops from the Rhineland, the Rt. Hon. A. Henderson said the Government was anxious that the evacuation should take place at the earliest moment, but ■would regret if it had to be taken by degrees or stages. The Government’s aim would be to co-operate with the French and Belgian Governments in effecting a complete and simultaneous evacuation. It would be one of the tasks of the international conference, which was to meet in the near future, "to determine the exact date on which such complete evacuation of the Rhineland could be simultaneously carried out by the three occupying Powers. Mr. Henderson said the evacuation of the Rhineland was bound up with the settlement of Mr. Young's report on reparations, but the conclusion must not be taken that there would be no evacuation until the reparations question was settled. It is learned that the Dominions will bo represented by their own delegates at the international conference, at which Mr. Owen Young will plan the Rhineland evacuation.
