PRESENTATION OF SHOW PRIZES. The presentation of the prizes won at the second annual show under the auspices of the Otakeho and District Farmers’ Association took place at the Otakeho hall on Wednesday evening. In making the presentations, Mr. E. T. Burke, the president of the association, made eulogistic references to the good work achieved iu the district as a- result of the keen competition at the shows. He was sure that they were particularly pleased to see the interest manifested by the young people of the district and the results which they had gained. Two successful years had been experienced, and he appealed for a continuance of the excellent support accorded the association in the district. Ho thanked all those who had assisted to make the show a success, and particularly the Hawera Jersey Cattle Club foi its assistance and donation of a handsome cup for most points in the cattle section. The prizes were then handed to the successful competitors by Mrs. E. T. Burke. Mr. R. McCay, the secretary of the Hawera Jersey Cattle Club, in presenting the club’s cup to Mr. H. J. Berry, the winner, congratulated Mr. Berry on his performance, and also tlianked the farmers of Otakeho and district for the good work done in the interests of the Jersey breed. In acknowledging the presentation to him of the Tiddy Otip for grade heifer, 18 months, Mr. R. J. Byrne, who had this year won the cup outright, announced that ho was presenting a cup in substitution for the Tiddy Clip. About 50 couples were in attendance, and dancing to music supplied by Mr. and Mrs. 11. R. Wood, with extras by Mrs, E, T. Burke, Miss L. Putt and Messrs. R.. Donald and A. C. Walker, was the order of the evening. Messrs. J. Campbell and W. Herbert acted as masters of ceremonies. Apologies were received from Messrs. M. C. Crlghton, secretary of the Hawera A. and P. Association, and Mr. A. J. Glasson, of the Department of Agriculture. An excellent supper was supplied by a committee, consisting of Messrs. E. T. Burke, S. Grenhill, E. Henwood, D. Davison, A. Walker, J. McAdam, W. 11. Corkill, H. Nicholls and A. Bayliss, a novel departure from the ladies' committee usually officiating at such gatherings. PRIZE LIST. The prize list is as follows:--A. C. Walker. —First, mangolds. G. Putt.—First and second, swedes: shield for points prize in root crops. C. A. Beaumont.—Third, swedes, F. F. Atkinson. —First, carrots. J. D. Bashford.—First, aged Lull; second and third, heifer in milk; second, mangolds; second, carrots; also shield presented by the association for champion bull. This shield lias been now won outright by Mr. Bashford. C. A. Burke.—First, dairy cow; second, aged bull; second, pedigree heifer, IS months; second, grade heifer, 18 months; second, pair of heifers, 18 months; third, grade heifer, 18 months; also Nicholson Cup for champion dairy cow. Jas. Campbell, junr.—First, two-and-a-half-year bull. A. Hastie.—Third, grade heifer calf. L. Cuthbert. —Third, pedigree heifer calf. J. E. Young.—First, grade heifer calf. H. J.
