Barnard Eldersham, really the work of two Sydney University graduates, Misses Eldersham and Bernard, which won a ' £lOOO competition for the best novel by lan Australian author. Mr. Bennett says: "It is a very notable novel. The quality is epical and the book deeply impressed me. I shall be surprised if more is not heard of Misses Eldersham and Bernard.”
