TOWN HALL, STRATFORD. PAT HANNA’S FAMOUS DIGGERS. Box plans for the performance on Friday next at the Town Hall are filling rapidly at Fear’s music shop, and intending patrons would do well to reserve their seats immediately. The Diggers are coming direct from their wonderful triumph in Australia and are now appearing to splendid houses in St. James’ Theatre, Auckland. The company is composed of 25 clever and talented costume comedy artists, and their programmes are full of the latest musical hits, dances and witty sketches. Their orchestra, led by Alias Nina Kope, is a feature of the show, and so also is the charming classical ballet. In addition to the excellent comedy supplied by the famous “Pat” himself (he is now known as Chic) there is the mirth-provoking power of a comedian of true Scottish type, possessing a rare and “pawky’ wit —Joe Valli, who takes a big part in a comedy combination said to equal anything on the Australian boards to-day. The balance of the company shows some “old, familiar faces,” some new, but all will a hearty welcome when the Town Hall opens its doors at 8 o’clock on Friday next.
