The “Tiding the goat” form of initiation found it equal in a suggestion made by a member at the annual meeting of the Southland Motor Association (says the News). ‘‘We are discussing the question of appointing borough and county engineers as associate members,” lie remarked. “Well, I would suggest - that if engineers are elected there should be an initiation ceremony, and they should be made to ride over the traffic domes oh the North Road.” The idea was received with laughter, and several members signified their approval of the method of making “the punishment fit the crime.”
