An interesting sale is fixed at Sotheby’s for May 13, consisting of Sir Joseph Banks’ papers in connection with the south seas and tho Dominions. The papers include some letters from Governors Bligh and John Hunter. One of Governor Bligh’s letters, dated February, 1807, contains a passage: “This, sink of iniquity, Sydney, is improving its manners.”
