CANTERBURY MARKETS. PRICE OF POTATOES DOWN AGAIN. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Christchurch, Last Night. A decided drop in the price of potatoes was the principal feature of the market. To-day the price quoted to farmers is £9 to £9 10s, with a somewhat sluggish market. Some hold the opinion that prices may recover again as they believe there is a real shortage. The Wingatui is expected to take 1200 sacks from Timaru and 4009 or 5000 sacks from Lyttelton. Wheat is firm at latest quotations, viz., 5s Sd to 5s M to farmers. Fowl wheat is quoted at 5s Sd f.o.b. Lyttelton. Oats are reported to be showing signs of movement, and sales are reported. A Gartons are quoted at 4s, but there is no alteration for B’s, which stand at 3s 5d f.o.b. sacks in. The continued dry weather has improved the price for chaff, which is now quoted at £3 15s to £>!, but little inquiry is reported. SHAREMARKET SALES.
