COASTAL MOVEMENTS. The Kaponga sailed at 10 o’clock last night for Nelson, Westport and Dunedin. (U.S.S. Co.) The John arrived from Wanganui at 10 p.m. last night. She sails for Lyttelton direct to-day, and is due in New Plymouth again on Thursday. (Holm and Co.). The Progress will leave Wellington to-day for New Plymouth. She is due here to-morrow and proceeds on Monday to Port Waikato. (Holm and Co.) The Corinna loads at Dunedin to-day for New Plymouth via Timaru, Lyttelton, Wellington and Nelson, and is due here Friday. (U.S.S. Co.) The Totara loads at Lyttelton on Monday for New Plymouth via Wellington, and is due here Wednesday. (U.S.S. Co.). Advice has been received that the auxiliary ketch Miro left Wellington at 5.10 a.m. yesterday for New Plymouth. The vessel is due here to-day to discharge explosives to the order of the New Plymouth Harbour Board. The Alexander is expected to complete discharging 300 tons of coal at New Plymouth this morning. On completion she sails for Westport. (Cock and Co.) The Kaimanawa is still bar-bound at Westport, and her arrival at New Plymouth is indefinite. The vessel has 517 tons of coal to unload at New Plymouth before proceeding to Auckland to complete discharges. (U.S.S. Co.) NEW PLYMOUTH-ONEHUNGA FERRY The Rarawa crossed the Onehunga bar at 6 a.m. yesterday and arrived at New Plymouth at 6 o’clock last night with passengers and cargo. She returns to-night and is due at New Plymouth again on Tuesday. VESTVARD SAILS. The Norwegian motor-ship Vestvard completed discharging 5000 cases of motor spirit yesterday and sailed at 4 p.m. for Beauty Point (Launceston), Melbourne and Fremantle, at which ports she will put out the remainder of her cargo. DEVON IN PORT. The Devon, which arrived off New Plymouth at 2.30 p.m. on Thursday, was unable to berth until late on Thurs-. day night. She is at the Newton King wharf and her draught is 22ft aft. The vessel bas 1740 tons of Liverpool cargo to unload here and 19,000 freight carcases of medt, 5000 boxes of butter and 7000 crates of cheese to load for New York, Halifax, London and West of England ports. She is expected to be in port until next Th>-"sday, when she will proceed to Wellington, Napier and Auckland to complete. She is due to sail finally from Auckland on October 30. The Devon is utilised by the company as a training ship and carries 34 cadets. Captain G. Kinnell is in command and he has the following officers: Chief, Mr. E. Williams; second, Mr. C. WAIRUNA SAILS TO-DAY. The Wairuna is expected to complete discharging 1300 tons of general Pacific Coast cargo to-day, when she will proceed to Auckland for dry-dock.
