LECKIE DEFEATS VERCOE

KNOCK-OUT IN SIXTH ROUND. By Telegraph.—Press Association. ' Blenheim, Last Night. Johnny Lecki© (8.13), Dunedin, knocked out Dicky Vereoe (9.0), Blenheim, to-night at the end of the sixth round of a scheduled ten rounds professional bout. Vereoe was on the defence all through and was too slow for his clever opponent. The Blenheim boy adopted the crouch and when he did open out he missed badly against Leckie’s clever footwork. The champion won every round and in the sixth finished Vereoe with a short right hook to the point.
