; PRICES BELOW LAST WEEK’S. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Auckland, Last Night. There was a fair yarding at Westfield to-day of qx which sold under steady competition at prices slightly under those ruling at last week’s market. Cow beef was penned in average numbers. It also sold steadily at prices slightly below last week’s. Quotations: Extra choice ox sold to 45s per 1001 b., and prime young cow and heifer beef 395. There was a more than average yarding of sheep, and prices were easier all round. A fair number of shorn sheep was yarded and comprised several good lines of ewes. Extra heavy prime wether woolly made 42s 6d; shorn, 35s 3d; heavy prime woolly, 39s 3d; shorn, 33s 9d; medium woolly, 355; light and unfinished woolly, 31s 6d; heavy prime ewes, woolly, 38s ~d; shorn, 28s; lighter woolly, 33s 6d; shorn, 265; other ewes, woolly, 27s 6d. An average yarding of spring lambs came forward. It sold steadily at late rates. Heavy prime lambs made 28s, medium 255, light 23s 9d. Calves continue to sell briskly. Good quality were keenly competed for. No runners were yarded. Medium vealers made £3 10s to £4 Gs, light £2 10s to £3 Bs, small £1 10s to £2 ss. Pigs were yarded in average number, with prices on a par with last week. Heavy baconers made £3 12s to £3 16e, heavy porkers £2 10s to £2 14s, medium baconers £3 5s to £3 10s, medium porkers £2 4s to £2 Bs, light baconers £2 17s to £3 3s, light porkers £1 15s to £2 2s.
