FIRST OF THE TOURISTS RETURN. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Auckland, Last Night. The first members of the New Zealand bowling team to return home after the tour of the British Isles, the Continent and Canada arrived by th© Niagara to-day. Including the wives of players, the party on the vessel numbered 27. After the tour of Canada about half the company went south to California for more bowling, and they are there now. Four or five members will return to Wellington by the Manuka on her next trip, and others will come home at their leisure. All are agreed the tour has been most enjoyable, the event of a lifetime. “It was a wonderful trip,” said Mr. R. Eagleton, “but I think that on the whole our standard of bowling is just as good as we met on the tour.” Mr. Eagleton commented upon th© extraordinary variety of greens which they experienced; the range being from good to indifferent and bad. He paid a tribute to the hospitality everywhere accorded.
