Colonel Bramwell Taylor, editor of the Canadian War Cry, and a -Salvation Army officer well-known in Australia, died at Winnipeg, states a cable message.
Princess Mary and Viscount Lascelles left Liverpool on Saturday night in the steamer Lady Limerick and were due in Dublin at eight o’clock yesterday mornin, states a London cable.
A Sydney message says that the funeral of Mr, Fleming, Chief Civic Commissioner, was largely attended. Those present included representatives of official and busirfess circles. A requiem Mass was celebrated in St. Mary’s Cathedral by Archbishop Kelly,
Mr. Herbert Morrison has been elected chairman of the Labour Party in succession to Mr. George Lansbury. Miss Susan Lawrence, M.P., was elected de-puty-chairman. Miss Lawrence will be the first woman to occupy this position, and in the normal course of events she will succeed to the chair after Mr. Morrison’s year of office expires.
