VALUELESS CHEQUES USED
* MARRIED MAN ADMITS GUILT. By Tolecra-ph.—Press Association. Dannevirke, Oct. 5. George Edward Bernsee, a young mar* ried man at present in custody for cheque frauds, was before Justices today on three additional charges of obtaining money by false pretences by means of valueless cheques. The amount involved was £3l. Accused tendered cheques signed by James Gray, the name of his former employer, since dead, to two hotel licensees and to a shopkeeper, receiving substantial change in each case. He pleaded ‘guilty, and was commit* ted to the Supreme Court for sentence.
