JAZZ SPIRIT DECLINING
THE PENDULUM SWINGING BACK. By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright. London, Oct. 5. The London winter dances are officially stated to be little different from those of last year. They will be largely the quickstep charleston, and slow fox trot. The jazz spirit still prevails, but is not as all-conquering as a year ago. There are signs of the pendulum swinging back towards romanticism. Among the new dances which greatly pleased Mr. and Mrs. Baldwin when demonstrated at Aix-les-Bains are the polka (1929), Varsity drag and tiletrot.
