THE IDEAL GUEST.
She’s gracious and 1 sweet, but she doesn’t “gush”; nor does ,slip essay to exploit the privileges of an \intimatc friend, in manner maladroit. She doesn’t interpret too literally the reference to ‘’.Liberty Hall z nor impinge so closely on family life that her presence is apt to pall! She has the knack of- standing by or effacing herself at need. Hostess-ship knows never an irk—so fine is her social creed. She has “a w-ay” with the other guests —yet takes most subtle care that her hostess never is outshone by her unobstrusive flair. Her’s is the triumph over self so few of us can attain. (She is, in a word, the ideal guest, who is always asked again! “Honolulu and Rome aspects of the Women’s Pan-Pacific Conference” is the title of a talk to be given by Miss Cole to members of the Y.W.C.A. at the hostel pa Wednesday evening next.
