GRIME HAS HARD ROW TO HOE
DIFFICULTIES IN UNITED STATES. TOO FEW FIGHTS TO STRIKE FORM. By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright. Received Sept. 23, 5.5 p.m. New York, Sept. 22. Interviewed by the Australian Press Association, Grime expressed regret that he was unable to engage in a greater number of desirable fights. “It is hard for a foreign boxer to advance in the United States,” he pointed out, “because he is forced to fight many fights, few of which help him to reach the top, although once he makes his mark his situation is pleasant. 1 am naturally discouraged as the result, but I feel sure fights for which I am scheduled in Australia will enable me to return to the United States better known and able to be matched as I wish.”
While he admitted the road to boxing fame in the United States was a hard one to travel, Grime expressed the opinion that the United States was the most likely country in which to gain recognition. He declared he had been unable to engage in a sufficient number of fights while here to enable him to reach the peak of his form. He explained his numerous defeats as being on this account.
