A brilliant success fittingly describes the last plain and fancy dress masquerade dance held in the Welbourn Hall. The many and varied fancy costumes lent colour to an animated scene. The forthcoming dance to be held to-morrow night promises to be equally enjoyable, as the floor is one of the best and the music is to be provided by the Welbourn Orchesara. The coffee served at supper is much appreciated, and is fast earning a reputation as Melbourne coffee. There is expected to be a large attendance of residents of Bell Block at the Ingleside in their ball, next Saturday evening. The catering arrangements are in the hands of the ladies of Beil Block, so that this department is sure to be well managed. The Melbourne’s winter sale opened to crowded doors yesterday morning and phenomenal business resulted.
