Mr. J. Houlahan, of Moturoa. ie making a good recovery from his recent serious illness. Mr. L. G. Loveridge, of Canterbury College, who was recently in New Plymouth on holiday, has returned to Christchurch. Mr. P. J. Peterson, of Brixton, left by the mail train yesterday morning for Rotorua, where he will attend the annual meeting of the New Zealand Jersey J Cattle Breders’ Association. : The death oe<-iirred at Gisborne yesterday of Mr. John Somervell, aged 88. He was one of the pioneers of Poverty i Bay and was a well-known builder in the early days. Mr. B. Larson, clerk to the Inglewood County Council, who has been laid up with a severe attack of influenza and bronchitis, has sufficiently recovered to be able to attend to hie duties again. A London cablegram reports the death of Mr. Dennis Eadie, actor-man-ager, aged 53. Mr. Eadie appeared in “Milestones” (1912), “The Alan Who Stayed at Home” (1915), and "Billeted” (1917).
