CARE OF STRATFORD PARKS
DOMAIN BOARD’S MEETING. The monthly meeting of the Stratford Domain Board was held last night, all tho borough councillors being present with the addition of Messrs. P. Thomson, H. C. Johnson and C. R. Finnerty. The monthly report stated that in King Edward Park the swing bridge had been repaired and widened, a new decking having been fitted. Tho small plank bridge over the creek on the northern side of the river had been taken down and replaced by a new footbridge with hand rail and wire netting sides. The stile at the corner of Brecon Read and Page Street had been taken down and a gate fitted. A small gate had also been fitted on the Regan Street sido for the convenience of the association footballers. A new piece of fence Had been erected along Brecon Road from Regan Street to the husn. There was a considerable amount of soil in Miranda Street that would be suitable for filling and banking along the fence from tho band, room towards the entrance gates. If this were filled and graded it would improve the appearance in this part of the park. Tn Victoria Park the grass on the hockey field had been cut, rolled and marked. The football fields had been rolled and marked out. The primary school was given permission to use the football ground in Victoria Park when it was not otherwise required. The Association Football Club was given permission to use the Regan Street reserve for Soccer. The use of the hockey ground in Victoria Park was granted the Old Girls’ Hockey Club. The band was given permission to extend the bandroom, subject to the approval of the Mayor, Mr. Thomson and •t'he foreman,
