MAN SHOCKINGLY INJURED
ACCIDENT ON OAMARU WHARF. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Oamaru, Last Night. When the steamer Wingatui was being loaded this afternoon at the Holmes wharf a railway truck passed over John Bain, a married watersider, aged 65, who suffered shocking injuries, both legs being broken. Bain went to remove a sling out of the way of a rake of tallow trucks being shunted up to the hatch when ha was struck down by the front of the truck. Bain was removed io hospital and the right leg was amputated. His condition is critical.
