MARRIAGE OF A NOVELIST.
The marriage at Cannes on May 2 of the novelist,. Michael Arlen, to Countess Atalanta Mercati, was according to the picturesque rites of the Greek Church (states an English exchange). These rites’ include the crowning and anointing of the bride under a canopy held up by four broomsmen. The father of the bride was formerly Lord Chamberlain to the King of Greece. The Countess is American-born and speaks five languages. The honeymoon will be spent in the South Seas,
