Major development scheme proposed in 1924 and endorsed by. the board on April 30, 1928. Owing to lack of the necessary money to complete the new concrete Moturoa wharf, shed and appointments (£400,000), the board has decided to build the wharf alone at an estimated cost of about £300,000, and. proceed with the rest of the work at a later date. The Newton King wharf remains as at present.
