ENTERTAINMENT AT GAOL
SCOTTISH CONCERT. A pleasant entertainment, was given by the Pipe Band and friends at the New Plymouth gaol last night. The band was responsible for the majority of the items, which included selections and solos and a foursome reel. “Fun Doctor” Tate was very much at home, and kept the audience in good humour for half an hour. Old time choruses were the subjects of community singing. •
In keeping with tho Scottish nature of the programme, Air. Dineen had a surprise in the form of a haggis supper, though there was not enough for a return. Piper Reid recited the “ode” and a pleasant evening terminated with the singing of the National Anthem.
