CRICKET RULES CONFLICT

DISCUSSION BY MARLEBONE, By Telegraph— Press Assn. —Copyright. Received May 17, 5.5 p.m. United Service. London, May 16. The Marylebone Cricket Club discuss--ed the absurdity arising out of the conflict of law 2 defining a tie with the county rules relating- to scoring in the competition points. Bucks and Herts were playing in the minor counties’ championship. The former made 121 and 238 and the latter 273 and 86 for seven. Under the Marylebone rules the match was a tie under the laws of cricket, but Bucks gained an advantage in points through leading on the first innings. Marylebone considers that such events are so rare that it is not prepared to alter law 2, because the tests and other matches would be affected.
