PORTER FATALLY BURNED

TRAGEDY IN A RAILWAY HUT. THE BUILDING CATCHES FIRE. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. A railwayman’s hut at Pukerua Bay caught fire during the night and the occupant Archibald James Amundsen, a single man, 26 years of age, a tablet porter, received injuries from which he dido this morning. The fire was discovered by tho driver of a goods train passing through the station. On investigation he found Amundsen crouching unconscious on the floor severely burned about the upper portion of his body. He was carried on the train to Porirna, given medical attention there and. afterwards brought into the' Wellington hospital where he died. His parents live at Clive near Hastings.
